The Multistakeholder Forestry Programme (MFP) has been supporting Indonesia since 2000 to strengthen forest governance, tackle illegal logging and improve livelihoods for forest-dependent people. This programme is a bilateral collaboration between the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) of the Republic of Indonesia with the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) of the UK Government.
MFP has supported stakeholders from government, civil society and business to deliberate and deliver transformational reforms across Indonesia's timber sector. In 2016, Indonesia's timber legality assurance system: SVLK, became first system in the world to be recognized as meeting the high standards set by the European Union's Timber Regulation. This is a globally significant development in tackling deforestation.
This repository collects information from nearly two decades of partnership between Indonesia and the UK to support forest governance reforms and deliver the Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) Action Plan. The categories below bring together a wealth of facts, figures and stories generated by MFP over this time.
